She embodies elegance and boldness. Since her debut on African catwalks, Adneli Pulchérie Koïbla has become one of the most striking faces of Chadian modelling. Today she is no longer content to walk for leading designers: she wants to turn her experience into a springboard for a new generation of African talent.
“My goal has never been just to shine in the spotlight. I want other young people to be able to dream big and succeed in the fashion industry too,” she says.
A meteoric rise
Passionate about fashion from an early age, she made her catwalk debut in 2012 at Kelou Fashion, then went on to fashion weeks and awards:
- 2015: best African newcomer model at the Car Fashion Award in Douala;
- 2016: best Chadian model at MASA in Abidjan;
- 2017-2018: shows in Dakar, Lomé and Pointe-Noire;
- 2020-2024: several editions of Paris Fashion Week.
An entrepreneur committed to young people
In 2021 she founded Impact Models Agency, which scouts and trains young talent and opens doors for them in Paris, Milan and London. “African modelling is full of potential, but lack of visibility holds it back. My agency wants to break down those barriers,” she explains. Through Impact Management she also takes part in development projects, including Création Africa Tchad, a one-million-euro programme launched by the French embassy in Chad.
A role model for Chadian fashion
She aims to structure and professionalise Chad’s fashion industry, notably through her own fashion week. “Africa has immense creativity. It is time we had a bigger place on the world stage,” she says. She also campaigns for better access to training and financing for young designers and models.
Her dream? To make Chad a hub of African fashion. “If I could do it, others can too. My role is to open the way for them.”
